Finding Time, Fuelled by Purpose

September 17, 2022

The Kingsville Podcast: Meet the Candidates night has been my favourite event of the campaign trail so far! The energy in the room, the community spirit—it all shined so brightly. ✨

One of the most common questions I’ve been asked during this campaign is:
“With a full-time job, being a mom, and everything else you do—how will you ever have time for this?”

Here’s my answer:
We all get the same 24 hours in a day. It’s how we choose to use them that matters.

Time management is one of my strongest skills. I thrive on being busy, I’m incredibly organized, and I know how to prioritize what’s important. But the real secret behind how I do it all? This incredible team beside me.

I have a champion of a husband who encouraged me to step into this journey, believing in me fully from the start. I have two amazing kids who are proud of their mom and excited to see her making a difference. And I’m surrounded by a circle of family and friends who support and uplift us in every way.

Being your councillor will absolutely require time and dedication—but I’m not concerned about the commitment. Like anything in life, it’s about setting boundaries, protecting what matters most, and showing up with purpose.

What I am curious about is this:
Are the male candidates—many of whom also have children and careers—being asked this question as often as I am?

It’s worth thinking about.

Because women can lead. Women can balance. And women can bring a deeply rooted strength to the table that is shaped by all the roles we carry, not in spite of them.

So yes, I’m ready.
 To be Ryan’s wife.
To be Jackson and Shae’s mom.
To be a daughter, a sister, a friend, a colleague.
 And to be your councillor.

Let’s do this—together.
